Ecosystem News
Airwayz announces partnership with Royal NLR to accelerate drone U-Space adoption across Europe
The partnership will see Airwayz and NLR combine efforts to perform trials together, research best practice, accelerate R&D, and – where appropriate – respond to industry RFPs (Requests for Proposals) together. Combining NLR’s expertise in Air Traffic Management (ATM) with Airwayz’ dynamic Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system provides an excellent framework for U-Spaces, supporting their accelerated roll-out across Europe and providing the potential to delve deeper into Urban Air Mobility (UAM) schemes.
NLR is an independent innovative research centre for the aerospace industry, working to solve global airspace issues and plays a pivotal role between science, industry, government, and society. Airwayz’ dynamic UTM/USSP software monitors and coordinates multiple fleets of drones in real time, using proprietary artificial intelligence to ensure safe and efficient commercial drone activities. Airwayz’ partnership with NLR signifies new levels of commercial opportunity for drone ecosystems.
H2Pro to sell hydrogen to Japanese giant Sumitomo in deal estimated at $250 million
H2Pro develops innovative technology for green hydrogen production (hydrogen production that does not involve CO2 emissions). The technology called E-TAC upgrades the normal electrolysis process and enables the separation of water into hydrogen and oxygen in an innovative process where the hydrogen and oxygen are produced separately in different stages. As a result, the process developed by H2Pro enables the production of hydrogen without the emission of greenhouse gasses at a substantially lower price than the production cost of clean hydrogen using existing technologies.
The agreement with the Japanese giant is to provide it with facilities for the production of hydrogen with a capacity of up to 500 megawatts by the end of the decade. The company is set to start to supply the facilities in 2025, when H2Pro is expected to finish the development.

VDL Energy visit at Quantum
This month we had the pleasure of hosting a our partners from the Netherlands, VDL Energy Systems management team.
VDL Energy Systems develops clean energy storage systems based on state of the art lithium-ion battery technology and software, in a range from 60 kWh to >1000 kWh.
Their applications are plug/play, scalable, smart and versatile under the name of Electrical Power Units
This visit was a significant opportunity to meet face-to-face with Israeli startups and explore existing and new opportunities in the Israeli ecosystem.
Quantum Hub PoC Use-Case
The Situation
Today Taavura Heseim operate 6000 rides a week in Jerusalem using taxis alone.
This operation include scheduling maintaining and ordering the orders manually.
in order to increased operational efficiency, maximize utilization, and maintain excellent service levels. The project will begin with implementation of the platform in the Jerusalem area. The principle uses of the platform include:
What we did
Starting with simulation at first stage and after to live demo, the principle uses of the platform include :
-
Optimization of the planning and dispatching of rides, including setting routes that maximize the efficiency of the operation
-
Planning and live updates to the drivers in the operation, both internal and external
-
Automation of live updates and operational changes based on real time conditions
-
Centralized reporting and tracking for all live operations
Results
-
Savings in drivers/vehicles - increase in the number of rides completed per hour of work. Expected - up to 15% increase. Validated at simulation stage and in live operation.
-
Customer experience - arrival times, arrival times vs. requested time. Expected - up to 10% decrease.
-
Improved efficiency and automation of dispatchers and route planners. Expected - up to 20% decrease in required resources.
AutoFleet
AutoFleet enables fleet managers to become vehicle-as-a-service providers. Using the AutoFleet platform, fleet managers can maximize revenues and margins and increase fleet utilization by aggregating demand, controlling supply, and optimizing rides. AutoFleet’s platform leverages advanced machine-learning models for real-time demand prediction, automated generation and management of maintenance/servicing tasks, optimized dispatching and routing, and dynamic pricing to help existing fleets become more efficient.
